Default Cheap mini sd and questions

Dont know much about the q and dont feel right about just asking a bunch of questions without offering anything in return so here.
http://www.digi4me.com/product.php?p...at=9226&page=1
I haven't gotten it yet so I dont know about the service but i cannot argue about the price.

35 dollars for a 2 gig mini sd
shipping included

now the question part

I didn't spring for the 60 dollar a month unlimited broadband deal (college student) which im sure severly limits my options. I have been reading these forums all day. I have a couple questions. With the google gps map http://www.everythingq.com/forum/sof...ght=installing
is it neccicary to have the internet service to get that to work? If so is there any country wide map software i can get without the gps. (I have a 2gb memory card comming in the mail.)
I also found a bunch of free palm software and i was wondering if there was some sort of emulator being made. Also if there were any good scientific calculators out there. HAHA! Sorry i know im asking a lot. Any ideas about these questions would be apreciated.

I know cheap is tempting, but I wouldn't go with a no name brand for a memory card (I've never heard of Transcend). I learned that from my digital camera. Stick to a reliable name brand like Sandisk. Got a 2GB from FlashMemoryStore.com. I'm still waiting for the thing to show up, but they have good brands at good prices.

As for the Google thing, I would like to know the same thing. I was in Staples today and found Microsoft Pocket Streets 2005 for $25. You don't need internet access and apparently you can download additional maps as well. I'll probably drop the bucks for it. Hope that helps for now. I'll let the people who actually know what they're talking about step in now!

Arrow A reliable memory!!!

I found a web sites who sells mini Sd memory from a more reliable company like Scandisk for $45.00 with free shipping.
http://www.upgradenation.com/Product...e=FM-SDS2GMINI

I also found that Moto Q has incompabilities with some of the Mini SD cards avaliable outthere, so you must be careful if you want to try a generic brand.

Also if you didn't know there is also a Mini SD WLAN Card from Spectec company but it doesn't work for the Moto Q, not because of the software, or the driver, or because Verizon lock it. It's because the design of the power control chip in the phone is flaw. In other words the Mini SDIO slot does not supply enough Energy to make the card works. so it is a hardware problem that motorola may be able to fix in a future.

Heh, I think you meant OutPOST, unless they had some kind of Steak and SD special.

Outpost/Fry's now has a 2GB Kingston miniSD for $24.99 (after $10 MIR). Free shipping, too.

Apparently transcend is becomming popular. This isn't the first time that i've heard of transcend.

For 35.40 shipping included I'd condsider trying it just to try it.

Google maps does require the net. So stay away from that. Also because I don't have the data package either I know what the rates can be like. For example I sent one picture mms and it cost me 3 bucks.

Default Update

Just got the card in the mail.
Service was a bit sketchy
Never got a confirmation e-mail so i sent an e-mail to the site. (no phone number) they said it would come in on tuesday and it was here on monday. The lack of information was a little worrysome but i received it in good condition. Now if i could figure out how to work the little goober.
