Hey well I've been connecting my Motorola Q through USB to the computer to charge the phone because I have lost my wall charger... When I do this the phone starts to charge for about a few minutes then just stops and the screen goes black then if I unplug it and plug it back in it will start to charge again for only a few minutes maybe even less than that sometimes..Can anybody please help me out with this problem is there anyway I can charge my phone through the computer without having to go buy a wall charger again and having my phone stop charging randomly??..Please help me if you can with anything thanks alot guys.
If the battery is drained, a wal charger is best. A "high power" USB port has an output of about 500 mA, whereas the charger that comes with the phone is 850 mA. I have both Standarc and High Power USB ports on my PC and have to remember which is which since the standard ports won't provide enough power to charge the phone when the battery is drained. Also try turning the phone off while you are charging it (even on the PC) that way it isn't using the energy faster than the PC can charge the phone.
I did the same thing once - actually, my wife killed her battery and then "traded" with me on my way to work. I don't have the wall charger at my office. I trickle charge all day long just like Tony and it works fine. That day, the battery was completely dead. I plugged it in and it looked like it was going to be fine (just like you said) but then it went black. I unplugged it and tried again, but nothing changed. So, I left it plugged in and went to my meetings. About 3 (maybe 4) hours later, it was charging normally again. I turned it on and Active Sync kicked in and everything was right again. So, I would say get a charger or be patient.
