begging for help

i just got my moto q and i need some basic advice on how to customize it. u kno, like txt and thngs. i hear u can do some pretty cool things. imma kid and i jst wanna have the coolest phone i can get. plz help me out

you can start by reading as many threads here on EQ as you can "absorb".... it's very difficult to tell you what to customize, kind of come up with what you want and go from there is a lot easier..

ps. welcome aboard.... you're already Qool by just owning a Q :}

1) Maybe start in the Home Screens forum
2) Search for ringtones
3) Depending on how advanced you want to get...... In this forum look at the "Hacks" sticky?? You'll need a registry editor though.

If you read through the sticky youll find some recomendations

the search function is also a great way to find quick answers, there is an amazing ammount of knowledge on this site

what jim said.... and i think the most used reg editor (although i don't think you should start messing with the registry as a newbie) is PHM Reg Editor. http://www.phm.lu/Products/Smartphone/RegEdit/

why should i not mess wit the registry? if i mess up cant i use master reset?

you can master reset...but just make sure you feel comfortable doing it...otherwise its a pain to reinstall EVERYTHING

ok i hav the registry downloaded and ive done a little tweakng and im doing good. i jst dont kno like where to go to put in all the stuff for the homescreen and plug ins and stuff
