Default Battery won't charge

Hi folks -- has anyone else had a problem with a battery that won't charge? I plug it into the wall outlet over night, and sometimes I wake up and don't receive a message that the battery has completely charged. When I unplug it, the meter is at the same point as when I plugged it in the previous night.

Any ideas why this is happening? More importantly, any solutions?

Does this happen when phone is off or on while plugged in to charge? Try it both ways and let me know.

This happens when the phone is off. I see the blue charge screen when I turn it off and charge it. While this is OK for now (I don't have to let it die), I'd like a more permanent solution -- having my phone off overnight wouldn't be great if, God forbid, I receive some sort of emergency call in the middle of the night.

I've noted that sometimes the charger is not recognized on the first plug-in. This is a charge-only wall connection not a sync and charge connection (which always seems to work).

Please watch the battery icon on the home screen and look for the charging icon to appear. If it does not, unplug and replug either at the phone's jack or from the wall (either end seems to work) and you should eventually see your charge icon.

This is my habit now and I have not had any problems.

One other note. I seem to experience this more with my Razor's charger and not with the charger that shipped with the Q. Could be perception though.

Chris

Chris,

Thanks for the tip, but the charging icon at the top of the screen ALWAYS appears when I plug the phone in.

So, I plug it in and let it charge overnight. The icon is there, but in the morning, nothing has notified me that the charge is complete, and when I unplug the phone, the meter is still at the same point it was at during the previous evening.

Oh boy...

Wish I could have been more help. Sounds like a firmware issue either way.

Might want to try a Q-tip with a dab of astringent on the leads of the battery as well.

I've had this problem on both of my Q's. Both Q's were only several days old. It's VERY frustrating

I have this problem with the standard battery, but it seems to be a lot worse with my Seidio 3200... I'm on my 3rd battery as well. This sucks.

Default Battery won't charge

This happens to me all the time. NOt sure what causes it, but I may have a cure. I charged my battery last night and sure enough this morning it showed no battery life. On the way to work I dropped it by accident and when I put the battery back in and started it up, suddenly there was 100% battery life. So I suggest power it down, take the battery out, and power it back up.......nice feature eh?
