Default Alternative methods to restart phone?

I'm not sure how it is with some of you, but to me, Motorola designed the Q so it makes you feel like you're going to tear your own nails off each time you need to take out the battery. On pretty much any computer these days, holding down the power button for 3-10 seconds will force the computer to shut down. The Q does not seem to follow this convention.

What I want to know is has anyone else found another way of shutting down/restarting the phone without having to take out the battery? Some apps (like Opera Mobile Beta) will pretty much completely lock the phone up. The only response I get after the freeze is when I hit the red power button, and all that does is activate the backlight for 10 seconds.

Haha... Oh, did I search! I actually came across that thread earlier today, but as you can see, the person who posted the bit about the "Reset Button" did so just minutes after I posted this. As for the other program that's posted on there, I don't know how useful it would be if the keypad is completely locked. My problem was that I had no control over any aspect of the phone other than activating the backlight. I'll e-mail the person with the Reset Button app and I'll see how that works out.
Thanks!

well you would just have to unlock the phone to restart....
how else would you use a reset function on the phone with the keys locked? aside from holding the power button....

That's just it; on a computer, even when everything goes to hell and it won't accept ANY inputs, holding down the power button will force a shutdown. Even on an iPod, you can hold down a combination of keys for some period of time to force it to restart. I can't believe that Motorola did not place such a feature in this phone.
