Acura MDX - Motorola Q Forum

Hello, I am new to this forum. I am considering buying a Q from Alltel. I would like to know if anybody has use the Q with the Hands Free Link (HFL) in the Acura 2007 MDX. If anybody has, could you download your contacts into the HFL phonebook.

Last I heard the Acura NAV wouldn't DL contacts but don't quote me on that.

Don't know about transferring contacts - sorry, but I do know that my Q links perfectly fine with my TSX. It even shows signal strength, something my Treo did not do.

Alltel contacted Motorola form me. They claim the Q will work. I can try the Q for 15 days without cost. I will let you know how it works. Thanks for the reply.

I'm unable to do this in my TL and I think you're out of luck too.

From time to time there are HFL software updates that are covered under the warranty (CPO/NEW), so there is some hope.

I am on 15 day trial. I got my Q on Friday Feb. 1. Alltel contated Motorola for me and they said it would work. I am going to contact Alltel on Monday to see if they have a solution. At the acuramdx.org web site a member said his Q from AT&T works great. AT&T uses a different model of the Q. I beleive it Q9h. I am not sure which model Alltel uses. I will let you know what I find out on monday.

I don't think there is any question as to making phone calls. The question, I think, is whether the Acura will allow object push of the phone book over BT.

Yes, I can make and receive calls. The numbers show on the display on the dash. I can also see the battery level. I want to be able to download my phone book into the MDX. Motorola said I should be able to downloand the contacts. It might be an Alltel problem. I emailed my Alltel contact person today. I have yet to recieve a reply. If I can not download the phonebook I will return the phone within the 15 day trial period. I do like the the Q. I also have not been able to connect to my office email. I do not want my IT guy to spend a lot of time setting up my connection if I am going to return the Q. I will keep you informed if Motorola comes up with a fix or work around......

I talked to Motorola. I was told the Q should work. I asked the support person if the Q supported BlueTooth Sync or PBAP protocal. The tech said no. He did some additional research and said the Q would not work. However the Q9h would work. The Alltel network does not support the Q9h. If I learn anything new I will report back.
