ActiveSync Problems. . I am a new user

I just bought the Q yesterday and I am having problems with the Activesync and getting my outlook to sync up with the Q. The strange thing is that it does sync but not when I want it to.

It syncs on it's own instead of when I connect the USB port. It is very strange. When I connect the Q to the computer it tries to sync and then gives me a error message.

Then sometime in the next hour it will just sync on it's own. It has done this 4 times now. It has synced on it's own when I am trying to mess with other buttons to figure out what is wrong with it.

The CD-rom downloaded fine on my computer and everything else seems normal. I am just confused.

Any help would be great!

make sure you have the most up to date active sync
www.windowsmobile.com
and once you download the most up to date one (AS 4.5) delete the partnership with your Q and create a new one

Thanks Scott for the reply. I also went to the Connections and unchecked the box in the USB to PC section as per suggestion to another post I saw. I appreciate the help.
