active sync??? - Motorola Q Forum

when I tether my Q with my computer and active sync opens up, it says it is connected but I cannot open any folders. am I doing something wrong?

Can you sync OK?

You should be able to open up an Explorer window from ActiveSync by clicking on Explore. Also, if you just open up Windows Explorer on your own, there should be an item under My Computer called Mobile Device, and under that My Mobile Device (I believe), through which you should be able to access the folders on your Q.

It looks like I have to have Windows 2000 to back up my contacts?

Did something pop up saying this? What versions of Windows and ActiveSync are you running? ActiveSync won't back up your contacts in and of itself if that's what you're trying to do.
