Default 1st Q in a few days, need some opinions

Greetings everyone. I just ordered my Q via the SERO plan for $99. Though it has already been an ordeal since I had to get out of my Verizon contract without the early termination fee (it was tough, but I was able to do it). It hasn't arrived yet due to it being back ordered so I am waiting with baited breath. I've been trolling this site for a few days now and have picked u pa lot of infomration and a lot of ocnfusion too.
I have a few questions that I am hoping to get answers to especially since I plan on hitting the ground running wihen I get the phone.
From what I have read, the 1st things I am doing is purchasing PDAnet in order to use my laptop when I'm away form the office without a ocnnection. It also seems like a good idea to get Smart Tweak to fix some issues and speed things up a bit. What is orange.dll though? Also what is the difference between a home screen and themes? I've seen lots of home screen on this site and another Q site, but many utilize other applications that I won't have immediately. I've read most things on here and will still need some help with home screens etc. I also plan on using candlelight and windows live search and downloading the NES emulator (I still hve my originall NES and fire up Tecmo Bowl every so often). DSoes it sounds like I am going in the right direction or is there something that I am missing? THanks and I look forward to being a member here.

First thing you should do is call motorola and recieve your free 512 MB mini scandisk card and headphones. If you go to the sprint section of the forum you'll see the thread about sprint accessories, but you'll need your phone first to get the hex number off the back.

Second get TCPMP, it great for watching videos and such. Candelight is awesome, and i am putting an NES emulator on my phone tonight, so i think you are headed in the right direction

I would go with GoogleMaps instead of WLS. I had them both, and GoogleMaps was much faster and the satelite images were much better. But since they are both free test them out yourself. I also agree with the other poster on TCPMP. Its Great!!!

Where is the hex number? I can't get my battery out to look - is there a 'trick' to removing the battery? Do you know the Motorola number we call to contact them re the SD?

1) look in the sprint forum for the thread realted to Free accessories from Motorola. the number should be in the first page of posts.

2) They can talk you through getting your HEX number when you call them, it is also probably on the bar code of your box.

3) Battery. Flip over, take off cover, pull from the right side of the battery while the Q is facing down. This works for me

The hex number they had me look at was on the inside of my battery, the part you cannot see when its installed. So i removed it, and there was a number like theis hex: 123434566

I might be wrong, but i'll take a shot at the theme vs. home page.

If you were to change the home page, like setting a picture to it, when you don't have an application running you would see the home page containing your picture.

The theme is the overall style of the phone. It can change the color of the start and contacts bar, text, as well as other things.

Pretty vague description but i think that is the jist of it.

For any other MQ newbies like myself, here is the Motorola phone number where you can call and they will send you an SD card and stereo headset:

800-657-7576

I just called today and they placed an order and will ship them out to me FedEx they said - will take about 5 days. Pretty cool for free.
