System Tools or Repair 0x85010014 Sync Error Driving Me Nuts! Help Please! I just want my contacts! :)

Okay, so the first time I tried to Sync up my Q to transfer my contacts via Outlook I recieved this error, "85010014". I immediatly scoured the internet to see what the problem was. It seemed like everything I came across that had to do with this error was people who had an exchange server. I dont have an exchange server NOR an e-mail account in my outlook. I simply use it for contacts.

I've tried everything suggested that I have found from other people expierencing the same problem. I have un-installed/re-installed Outlook and ActiveSync a handful of time with no luck. Still the same error. Completely reset the phone as well...nothing, still the error.

I'm extremely frustrated with why they wont sync and I get the error? I don't have bluetooth on my laptop, so I'm using the data cable. If anyone could maybe shed some light on this or offer a helping hand it would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks!

-B

Well I wanted to let everyone know that after hours of bashing my head against my desk I figured this error out.

I uninstalled Outlook, for about the 16th time and then i proceeded to delete everything in my registry that had outlook in any part of it. Gave it a reboot, reinstalled Outlook, rebooted, and wouldn't you know the sync FINALLY worked! I assume it was some setting stuck in the registry.

Hope this is helpful to someone who is having a similar issue!

Having the same problem as well. I really really don't want to uninstall Outlook (b/c my IT department set it up and I multiple pst files running and it would be way to complicated and risky).

Please tell me there is another solution!?

I couldn't get mine to work until my IT department installed the latest Service Pack on our Exhchange server, and applied a couple of Hot Fixes on top of that.

There any other fix besides deleting Outlook and reinstalling? I tried installing Active Sync 4.5 and still get the error. Deleting Outlook seems like such a pain! They cannot fix the problem without doing that? Hell, Microsoft may as well tell us to reinstall Windows too. Start all over.

Is there any other way to fix this? I really don't want to remove Outlook, then have to redo all the settings within Outlook all over again. Anyone know how to backup Outlook 2007? Backup all of it, not just then contacts and the mail, I know how to do that. I want all the views and preferences backed up too if I am going to remove Outlook.

After all was said and done, all I really wanted was my contacts and calendar. Screw outlook and M$, I got everything done using Wireless Sync.

FYI: In Outlook 2007, I just did a diagnostic check of Office and it fixed the error.

I think I recall deleting the active profiles in desktop outlook to fix this.

I never had this problem until this stupid change of daylight saving time!!!! Microsoft said to make sure my PC had the DST update (it did), download the Outlook TimeZone changer thing (did it), download ActiveSync 4.5, and install the DST fix. Now I get the 85010014 error and have to uninstall Outlook?!?! All because the clock changes earlier this year!!! There has to be another way.

I deleted the partnership and I still get the error. Amazing, thanks to this all of my appointments are an hour ahead since they can't sync with the corrected times in Outlook.
