using a mini SD card for the first time

Does my phone automatically recognize the mini SD card (with adapter) and put my photos on it, or do I have to do something to make it work? I don't know this phone that well! Thanks for your help.

If you want photos & videos automatically saved to card, you have to go into thjhe camera settings on the phone and choose that. Otherwise, saved to phone. I'm mobile, but someone else will chime in with the steps...

Thanks but how do I choose it? I'm trying: start>pictures and video>menu (folders)>storage card but I'm not sure that is right. Also, if I put music on the card, do I access them through the media center? Thanks so much.

Your steps are correct. Also, yes, if you put music on the card, you access it from media center. All my mp3s are on the card. Make sure when you sync the music, your tags are correct and you sync to card. I use the usb cable and windows media player (on pc). I click the sync tab/choose music to sync/sync to vcard.

Others use "drag and drop" or copy and paste (which I use occasionally). When you open wmp on phone, you will need to update the library (make sure to open card library, not device).

It might have sounded like I knew what I was doing, but the steps I was following don't jive with what is actually on my phone. It says to insert the card, press menu (actually, it's Start>Menu), scroll to and select Settings>Security. I can get to this point but then it says to enter my lock code, but on my phone, that is not working. I don't have a lock code, that I know of, and if I use any of the defaults the instructions suggest, they don't work either. Any suggestions? Do I have to format it first? Thank you!
