Plantronics Discovery 655

so i had some painful issues with the Plantronics Voyager 510 after the foam cover for the ear-tip lost their density so to speak, this brought me to contacting Plantronics CS who at first was not planning on doing anything for me (i bought it 10 months ago) so i said, that's fine.. but do realize i am not the only one with this complaint (actually spoke w/ 2 others with the same problem) + i am very active on a Motorola Q forum (which as you might guess is Qusers.com.. just kidding :} and i can no longer positively speak of your product and customer service.

well... this turned around and she (Amanda) offered me any BT headset from the 5xx or 6xx series, for various reasons i picked the 655 which was out of stock till the second week of november (which is not a good thing for somebody with my patience :} but nothing i could do.... (i verified yesterday w/ Amanda and she confirmed next week.

so this afternoon one of my warehouse workers came to my office wit a box from Plantronics... YEAH, it had this inside :}

it's charging as we speak... so i don't know yet how it will feel.

and yah.. Plantronics CS rocks.

Let me know what you think. I have the 510 I got for 30.00. My old co-worker gave me a base to use it with my landline at work. I love it, but I hate the power button on it.

I am also looking at the LG headset and the Moto 755.

at this moment i don't feel too great about it... some of the events, yesterday it drained my battery due to a lot of disconnection where the Q had to keep looking for the headset..

the few calls i made were off and good between decent to bad sound quality wise. i used the medium ear-tip (soft gel) in combination with the ear-hook which made my ear hurt so i swapped to the small tip.. ear still hurt. today i wore it with the medium top, no hook... it's so-so.

this morning after a full night of charge i turned it on @ 8.. had 3 calls (1 about 10 minutes, 2 less then 5 minutes.. in one call the headset initially did not work, started to work suddenly after 1 minute being in the call).. it's now 2:30 and the headset started beeping and flashing red, i am guess the battery starts to run low.

just emailed Plantronics, they said they can't keep exchanging, which i understand and i don't want that either.. so she advised the 520 which to me is a step back..

Go back to the 510? For some reason the 510 sits great in my right ear, but not my left.

well... that gave me a comfort issue due to the foamy "covers" over the ear-tip.. i think what i would ultimately want (and i know Plantronics is not going to do that) is my money back, i'm looking at 2 Blueant headsets that i really like....(the T8 and the Z9)

Z9 is supposed to be really good, but has a lot of button combos that are hard to remember.

well.... if anything all i do with the current headset is answer, wouldn't use any other features i think (most time i answer with the phone so i can see who it is :} i read good and not so good things.. 99 bucks, say it elsewhere for 60... now i want it even more :}

i bought a T8 yesterday and will return it tomorrow.. before even pairing it up with the Q, there is one size ear-tip which is too large for me (and i do not have really small ears) and using the ear-hook didn't help either, tilting my head made the whole set fall off..

currently at a halt here... from what i understand the Plantronics also has a one size ear-tip, perhaps i try the 665. (pretty sure Plantronics is willing to ship me one headset to try :}
