new mini sd card - Motorola Q Forum

I just got a 2 gb mini sd card and put it in my Q (was able to get it to click into place with no problem) but don't see it showing up in the memory manger or on active sync when I look at the contents of the Q. Any suggestions? Do I need to restart?

Ok...tried restarting and that didn't do anything. I put another card in (the free 512 mb card I got from motorola) and that worked fine...showed up immediately in the file manager. Just a bad card? Anything I should try before returning it? Thanks!

You could try formatting the card if you have an SD drive on your computer.

Is the SD formatted for your phone? If not the phone will not be able to recognise the card. Try going into the memory settings and if theres something about formatting the memory card try that, ( I havent had to do it with my Q as i dont have a mini SD, only mico at the moment. But thats how the V3MRaz'r worked for me.. ). Good luck, Officer!
