Just got it, the "Getting started guide" "Users guide" don't say more than how to orient the card to push it into the slot on the side of the phone.

What is the proper procedure for installing a card for the 1st time?
With the phone ON or OFF?
Is the card already formatted or do I do it from the phone?
If so what is the correct path I follow to get to and do what I need so I can start using the memory?

I've never had to format a card and have had many (sandisk). I insert with phone off...

Not that I think it matters, but Q type? OS?

For me, the gold threads go up and into the phone (so flip it over to insert it), and I can insert and recognize the SD card when the phone is on.

it should only go in one way, push it in till you feel & hear it click (lock) into place

if it needs formatting you will be prompted

I take mine out with Q on, hasn't messed anything up yet

when saving you can select it as the destination, or use the file manager to move things around

Sorry, it's a Q9h wm6.1.
Pushing the card in was the easy part. I installed it with the phone off for GPs. I looked in "Mem mgr." and the 2nd listing is for "Card Storage"
7.6 gb, used 64.00kb, free 7.6gb.
Does that mean the phone sees the card?

Qewl! So all I have to do to get music on the card is to copy and paste or do I have to load a CD into the PCs WMP? and sync it?

I noticed on a number of Active Sync moments that the Media Player asks to be connected to a storage card, do I connect it 1st?

copy & paste works, active sync wil also see it just fine

I use my laptop's WMP to sync to my card. In WMP there is a SYNC tab. Choose to sync songs to card or main memory. WMP will also organize your songs into folders (albums, songs, etc.) within your sd card. WMP will also sync your pics and videos if you want it to. You have to be connected via usb; won't sync over BT.

Just tried a copy and paste to the My Music folder on the Q from the CD player.
I can see the folder I made in my music and the music files in side but the Q's media player can't see them or find them or what I don't know, any idea what is wrong?
