Update Library didn't work, it added alert sounds, Latin something or other and a few other things but not the album I had in the PC WMP I pressed sync and copy and paste.

I'm deleting all the junk the Upload added, including pictures.

I need a step by step with a clear path from A to B

make sure when you update library it is also including the storage card and not just device memory

I tried syncing to the storage card and to the device, I tried to copy and paste to the device Update library on the phone etc. None of these efforts has paid off.

On the PCs WMP, I had the CD in "Now PLaying" It won't let me add it to Library. I tried to drag and drop the songs and the album into the right side of the WMP where the text tells you to but nothing happens, the dragged file disappears when you release it.

I think I'll try ripping the CD to WMP and then try to sync it to the phone

Yes, I believe you have to first rip the songs off the cd to WMP then you can sync to your storage card. Once synced, in Q's WMP, you need to go to menu\library\menu\library\storage card to see songs that are synced to your sd. If you sync using PC's WMP, you do not have to update library, the songs will already be added.

Yup that's pretty much how it happen Ninjaap.
I bought the card reader along with the card, I wonder if I could copy and paste directly to the card via USB port?

I bought wifey a Zune earlier in the year, she's got over 2000 tunes, pics and clips in the software about 11gb worth.

Maybe I could pick the albums I want and just paste them into the storage card, or am I stuck with ripping through WMP?

The problem is I don't want to grow a 2nd Library, (Zune and WMP) when we already have one in the Zune, it doesn't make sense to dupe all the music for the sake of the Q9h so if the storgae thing works, I'll try and delete the media player sync in the AS4.5.

Anyone use the above method for their Q?

Yes you can copy directly to your card via card reader. You don't have to use wmp to sync. You can even just drag and drop songs from pc to Q via AS. Just make sure to update your Q's wmp library (storage card).

I'll try the reader copy & paste, will I have to "Library update" once I reinstall the card?

As for copy and paste, that was the 1st thing I tried, MyComp\D:\explore\select all\copy. On AS4.5, Explore\mobile based device\Music\paste.
I then made a B52's folder and dragged all the songs into it.

When that didn't work I came back and mewled for help. Mike250 suggested (up date Library) did and got stuff I don't know where it came from but not the Music.

Did I paste it into the wrong folder?
Should I have not put the songs into the B52's folder after I pasted?

So far there's 3 ways to get music on the phone, so far I got one right.
I'd like to know how to get music on the phone without creating a library on the PC WMP the Zune is enough. If the card/reader trick lets me do that I'm all for it.

You're on the right track. After you update your library, make sure you switch Q's wmp to storage card library not my device library.

The USB reader makes it easy to use and blisteringly fast to move files into it. It took maybe 5 minutes to move all the music folders to the card and have it log all of them. I spent the next 2 to 3 hours removing all the albums and songs I didn't want squishy girly stuff.

I should have gone through her Library 1st.
