Default Is there a mini-sd wi-fi card yet.

I have been reading the forums and understand what is going onwith the wi-fi scenario but is there any good news yet. I understand that some say it works only with the power adapter because the voltage is not high enough. I would think by now that some company would want to capitalize on this lack in the Q. I purchased mine last month and I read that someone said that the new Q might come with a better voltage in the SDIO slot to accompany the Spectec wi-fi card. I travel a lot and really need the wi-fi. Any help. Michael in la la land!

I'm also looking for a wi-fi adapter for my Q, but I have been told there's some sort of power problem that prevents miniSD wi-fi card from working. BUT, I just ran into this:
http://www.spectec.com.tw/sdw822-moto.htm
They say it works with Q (although it says it's for Q GSM and Q9, I am wondering if it works also on CDMA Q). Any thoughts anyone?

Everything I've read says the Q doesn't work with the wifi cards and the Q9M and Q9H do. I have a spectec card in the mail, hope to get it soon and find out.

Same here. But I was wondering if there's any difference between GSM and CDMA that would make the card work with GSM and not with CDMA.

between the GSM and CDMA Q or the GSM and CDMA Q9? There are hardware differences between the CMDA and GSM Q9 for sure.

The Wifi card does not work on the original Q. It will work on the 9m and 9h. It is not a GSM versus CDMA thing, just a newer release of the phone thing.

The Q9m and Q9 Global (aka Q9h) are not the same exact phone. The Q9m shares a very similar body to the Q9 Global and WM6 but thats it. The Q9m has more in common with the original Q, same radio, same memory 64/64 ROM/RAM and same crappy 1.3MP camera. The Q9m has been updated to support WiFi miniSD card while the Q does not.

The Q9 Global is due out on AT&T shortly and we will find out if AT&T did anything to remove the ability to use a WiFi card (rumors are they didn't). So it is a GSM vs CDMA thing after a certain point.

Fair point. I should have been more specific. It has nothing to do with the phone being GSM or CDMA but rather the hardware of the phone. It is possible the one will support it and one will not . . . but not because of GSM or CDMA. The 'm' apprears to take a Wifi card per other threads here so I suppose we will find out regarding the h soon enough.
