I went to Best Buy, and bought a stereo adapter with 2 black rings, and that solved my problems. Does not trigger Voice Recognition. It has a speaker/microphone on it, so when I am connected to car radio, call comes through the car stereo speakers. (Not as clear as could be, but I think that is because of the FM transmitter...don't have a tape deck in my car...)
When I am listening through headphone and a call comes in, music stops, and I can answer the call using the adapters microphone. Music resumes when call is done.
I know everyone says that 2 black rings is not stereo, but it certainly seems to be... | so apparently you need one with a built in mic to work correctly
seems like the only ones that work correctly are the ones with built in mics |

| Interesting that this post is going on with... the problem I had yesterday. I bought a "hands free" adapter at VZW store so that I could use the 2.5mm jack, and use headphones with it. In addition it has the mic, so that was an added feature. After using it probably a total of 20 times, one ear piece isn't coming through unless I jack around with the wire (main), close down by the jack.
My assumption is that one of the wires is hosed, and that I'm getting intermittent sound. I had originally bought them so that I could watch movies on flights, and not have a BT headset running while watching a movie. I don't know about you guys, but if I were to use BT and watch a 2 hour movie with TCPMP, I'd have close to no battery left.
Can someone reply, if: you have a 2.5-3.5 mm adapter that works without a hitch, and that has lasted you a decent amount of time?
I'm amazed that I spend close to $20 for this, and the wires/ shielding were so cruddy, that it's already giving me intermittent sound out of one "side". |

can you tell me one thing? does your adapter have three rings? |

I just tried it on my old Q, and I have the same problem. That tells me that it's this bunk adapter. I guess VZW just sells an easily crapped out adapter.

Funny i actually have more issues with it in the car than i do directly hooked up to the earphones.
The resolutions have been to move the jack around until it is where the ear phones are in stereo and hope it lasts a while .

| I have posted several times in various "adapter" threads....Motorola oem headphone adapter, no mic built in...works flawlessly. I've had mine for over 6 months...no problems with stereo sound or triggering voice recognition.
part #skn 6183, on ebay for aprrox. 5 bucks shipped!
...original silver Q, MOL2. |
