Anyone ever use a 2.5mm to 3.5mm Headphone Adapter?

it seems as though no one really knows anything at all about any way around this damn voice recognition shit

thats exactly what i have - and on further testing - my big post doesnt work all the time but does work like 90% of the time - so its much more useable now....did you try that?

Wish I could help with that. I rarely use voice recognition and I am paired most of the day with my stereo hs...im curious about how VR has you so aggitated. Dont hammer the Q lol maybe with the bumped post one of the Q "wonder kids" has an idea

they don't, we have been trying to get rid of this problem for a few months

it has me so pissed because i bought the phone for three uses
1. to use as a phone
2. to use to play mp3's on my radio at work
3. to play sirius satellite radio at work

the last 2 i can only do if i want to hear "BEEP Say a Command" every 3 minuets

why they wouldn't make it an option to disable this feature i don't understand

In your case that disabling would be a great option. Sorry no solution yet

I've got 2 different 2.5 mm converters with mics and answer buttons and I've used a 2.5 mm stereo headset with mic & answer button. They were all universal except for the one I'm using now which says it's for LG phones, but works fine. Voice command will come on if I hit the answer button (on accidentally or on purpose). But, otherwise, it does not activate spontaneously. I think it might be a defect with your phone.

hmmm.... maybe you just have to use one with a mic built in?

i think i am gonna try a different adaptor from radio shack and see what happens

My adapter from Radio Shack has the pre-requisite 3 black rings, and claims to be stereo. When I use it with the FM adapter for my car radio, it only plays from the right speaker. When I use it with my Bose home speakers, it is fine from the right speaker, but "muffled" in the left (almost like all bass, with some vocal in the background).

I went to Best Buy, and bought a stereo adapter with 2 black rings, and that solved my problems. Does not trigger Voice Recognition. It has a speaker/microphone on it, so when I am connected to car radio, call comes through the car stereo speakers. (Not as clear as could be, but I think that is because of the FM transmitter...don't have a tape deck in my car...)

When I am listening through headphone and a call comes in, music stops, and I can answer the call using the adapters microphone. Music resumes when call is done.

I know everyone says that 2 black rings is not stereo, but it certainly seems to be...
