Okay folks,
i MIGHT have an answer here after experimenting with 3 adapters and 2 original silver moto Qs...
PS - i did format my phone to factory settings before i did any of this - that was not the problem....
little background...
i have 2 preproduction models and have been using the sedio with and without adapters (both with 3 rings) and they are great! love them
ALL OF A SUDDEN in my main phone after 2 years the VA started launching and screwing up all the sound....
My other Q - which i mainly use as a backup AV Player and much less ofter DOES NOT experience this problem even though i tried repeatedly to replicate it...furthering my belief it is a wear and tear issue...
i tried the 2 ring adapter - its mono - totally pointless in my opinion and i think something about the jack in the phone just got old, loose, whatever, i rem old walkmans with the same issue - after a while you have to pull the jack out a little to get good stereo sound... so i think its just gotten old and the 3rd ring bumps into the mic input or whatever but its not supposed to be that way...i dont know if its diff for the 9c....
here is what i did after scouring the internet and getting no help from motorola though they are sending me a free adapter...have to see what that is...
on the device:
go to file explorer and right click > options > uncheck hide hidden and hide system
then goto windows/startmenu (itll take much longer now as there are many more avail files to view)
scroll all the way down to the VA file and right-click to properties...
scroll all the way down and uncheck all 4 boxes
then delete the file
it will be removed from the startup menu and i have not had a problem since...
3 disclaimers -
1. it takes away the shorcut hard button and the shortcut in the startup menu - i believe the (possibly loose or fragile) connection in the jack is triggering the SHORTCUT not the actual .exe - see #2.
2. i never use the VA anyway bc i could never get any real use out of it id much rather have my tcpmp back then VA but if you go to the windows root directory and hit v and scroll down you can launch the VA program - it is still there and you can prob make another shortcut to it, but somebody else who really likes that program can post abt that
3. please make sure not to spaz like i did while testing with my bose headphones i prob lost a half hour due to the fact that the plug INTO my headphone was loose by my ear and i hadnt considered that ?! (although i may not have worked so hard had that not happened)
new added disclaimer - this appears to be working right now...i have not checked it yet - but if this can help somebody then here you go...
lets hope....
