Default A Couple of cool EBay cases...

Hey all,
New to the forum. Just picked up this case on EBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/WOW-SLEEVE-Custo...QQcmdZViewItem

and there is also this variant...

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Motorola-Q-P...QQcmdZViewItem

I had never seen either of these before, so I thought I would throw them out here in case anyone is looking.

The only problem I see with those cases are that the speaker holes in the back are covered up. I guess that could make the phone quiter and harder to hear a ring.

Yeah, I noticed that -after- I had ordered it. I am hoping those pics are not totally accurate. If the speakers are covered up, it's nothing Mr. Exacto knife can't solve though

Things are really bad if we're resorting to Gap socks and exacto knives in pursuit of the perfect case.

Report back and let us know how you make out...

Good luck.

Well, the case arrived today. The speaker holes were indeed absent from the case. However, I can still hear it ring fine. It is a bit more muffled than before, but shouldn't really present a problem to us belt clip wearing heathen. If you pocket your phone, I dunno, cause I can never hear my phone when pocketed anyway. As to fit and finish... The case seems to be made of good quality materials. The stitching is done correctly so as to not scratch the Q. Overall, it seems pretty good for what it is. I do wish that the bottom of the screen protector was just a teeny bit higher up, as it -slightly- overlaps the two softkeys / directional pad. Also, the leather on the charger side comes right up to the USB port. I'm guessing as the case stretches, the Q will sit a bit lower in the case and these two issues will correct themselves. Overall, I would give it about a 3.75 or 4 out of 5. This is not my perfect, end all, be all case (is there such a case?), but it will hold me well until someone creates that perfect Q case. I'm guessing this will happen at about the time Q2 comes out, and none of us will care anyway ;)

Codeguy; I purchased the same leather case from ebay that u did. And my complaint is the same, the leather sits right on those top keys and it is impossible to press them without sticking tip of finger under there each time. It is really annoyance for single handed use. I will return mine and pay the 15% restock fee i guess. Also i didn't notice the holes missing from back for speakers til after i ordered it (just like yhou). I don't like that either.

I have the boxwave future blue skin, which i really like but i wish it had some kidn of clip on it.

ETA: u mention 'stretching the case"... Do u think that by putting on extended battery and placing in the leather case, that would cause it to stretch to allow access to those keypad keys? I'm wondering if it would stretch in the correct direction, or if it would just expand width wise.??

Hehe. Actually, I was looking at some other cases and noticed a flip open case that looked pretty much JUST like the one I bought, with one minor exception. The bit of leather that is so annoying was not on that case. The plastic screen cover just comes down and stops above the keys. So... I got out my trusty zirconian encrusted scissors and made a wee nip at a 45 degree angle at each corner where that piece of leather is. Then I just cut plastic right along the inside bit of leather. Presto! No more annoying leather piece and now it works ( and looks ) great I am keeping mine. If you look carefully, you can remove this leather without cutting the stitching that curves up the inner edge of the screen. Worked out great for me

I'm lol because i had already thought of that. When i first saw it , i asked hubby "u think you could cut this piece off?" But he said he wasn't sure how it would hodl together. Actually i had asked him to cut off that 'strip' and the plastic screen cover. Since i have a ScreenGuardz cover on my screen, i don't need that piece anyway. But sounds like if i leave the screen protector part attached, teh strip will remove with ease. Lemme get out my small scissors and wsee what hubby can do. Thanks bud!

Also, do you have the extended battery? What case do you plan to use when u have that attached? And wehre did you purchase the case that doesn't have that 'strip' on the front?
