Default 8gb Patriot minisd on newegg.com

just got my q9c, and looking to get a memory card. i see a bunch of 4gb minisd, and a few 8gb micro sd (more expensive). but newegg has an 8gb mini sd, brand name is Patriot. anyone heard of this brand? i would really like to get an 8gb over a 4gb, but there arent any reviews on newegg for this product

I thought the Q9c was limited up to 2GB in minisd size?

Could you supply a lazy link to the product?

The only Patriot minisd I found was the 2GB.

Patriot is more known for extreme performance RAM memory. I have used them in my latest custom PC and they excel in that area... but not sure how their SD cards rate. But based on their RAM I would probably feel pretty sure about them.

As for whether an 8 GB card would work or not, not sure.... I personally have a 2GB Kingston card on my Q and it's been perfect. I also got mine at Newegg as well.

the patriot 8gb is $33, and they have a 4gb for $17, and the 4gb seems to have good reviews.

Quite frankly, getting the microSD card and an adapter will save you money in the long run. MiniSD is pretty much a dead format, so unless you don't mind buying a new card when Motorola and every other company moves to microSD, get the adapter. I'm stuck with a ton of regular sized SD cards from when Palm switched to SD, and its annoying since I have 9 gigs worth on various cards.

They also have a three in one adapter sets... I bought two 2 GB ones for my two younger daughters and they can put it in any device...microSD, miniSD, SD....any device.

I second this advise, because micro sd has become the defacto standard for alot of manufacturers in their new and future products. Even if you come across one that is still using mini or standard SD, there's always adapter to give you backward compatibility (but not the other way round)

I just got an 8G sandisk micro-sd for $56. considering that it's just a few dollar (ok it's $20 mre) more, I don't see why you want to go with Patroit 8G Mini.

I found an 8GB sandisk micro SD on ebay (ebay store, not an individual seller) for 51 shipped. The seller has about 100 left, I'll let you know how it turns out when I get it.

i got the patroit Mini 8 Gb for my Q9M works great and the reason i went with the mini vs the micro is until i can buy a 32gb mini or micro why spend more then i have too. 32gb is the max so i am told on the Q9M so mini or micro 32 is the next step.

While I certainly know where you are coming from, I usually sell my old cards with the phones on ebay when I upgrade to a new phone. So I don't really mind buying a $30 8GB Mini now, and in two or three years when I get a new phone, buying a 32GB micro SD for the same price as that 8GB (at least, I hope it turns out like that.)
