I don't believe so. You can install it and it will fire up, however, I believe Verizon will not provision you to allow it to send/receive data.

To the contrary, my friend - If you subscribe you most certainly can, indeed.

My mistake then... I was told that Verizon WOULD NOT provision you. They said that the phones ESN number indicates a Q9m and therefore would not/could not do so.

I personally have the Q9c, so I can't speak on a personal level.

Are you saying that you can subscribe with a Q9m? I have a Q9m (with the Q9c 6.1) and Verizon tells me I CAN'T subscribe ... because it isn't available for a Q9m ... which is what my ESN is assigned to on Verizon's computer ...

Question: does the q9c use the qualcomm gpsOne chip? I thought I read in this forum that it does but I must be mistaken. I continue to see some posts regarding "programming" the gps chip - maybe we could just enable or disable the functionality completely or provide other information that the gpsOne chip needs to function correctly on the verizon network, like using agps tower data to get a quick time to first fix. Since this is exactly what I did to my previously disabled verizon phone, which now gets locks in seconds every time in google maps and live search. Just wondering why no one seems interested in my post from a couple of weeks ago? I must assume that the q9c does not have a gpsone chip and that the solutions for other vzw wm6 phones have no relevance here. Anyway, just wanted to verify that that was the case so that I can abandon my efforts.

i dumped verizon about four years ago for this reason alone; they turn off all functions the phone should have. Originally it was the Razr, phone had the ability to bluetooth file xfer, etc. but Verizon turned it off so you wouldn't do it.
I switched to AT&T and have been very happy ever since. My Q9global has GPS and i use the Garmin Mobile, it is fantastic, google and live work as well with no hacks. Bluetooth sync, file xfer, and bluetooth stereo, etc....
You guys should come to the other side.

Funny you would say that, I dumped Cingular and AT&T about 4 years ago for Verizon. It's because they sold crappy phones, refused to stand behind them and I never got a signal unless I was standing in the store. At the 1 year mark for roll over on my family plan, I had 24,000 roll over minutes.

I can confirm personally that you can access the Q9c in QPST using the HW virtual serial port method; however, I can't read the programming from the phone. The error mentioned something about the getting the Roaming list timed out. The gpsOne tab is there!
