Default Try this "Speed Hack".

I tried this last night and have to say I'm impressed with it.
I reset my Q9c and did not other tweaks besides changing the "file cache" to 4mb and didn't notice any difference between it and all the hacks I had done before the reset.

I decided to try the "threshold hack" and did a Google search.
I found a Chinese site that explained the functions and made the same recommendations as in the "314mhz" thread.

I changed it up.
The thresholds are the point where the CPU switches speeds from 104mhz, 208mhz and 312mhz. I know the CPU supposed to be 314(?) but that's what's there.

The stock settings would have the CPU switch from 104mhz to 208 when the CPU usage reaches 60%.
It would stay there until the usage went up to 85%, where it would switch to 312mhz, or until the usage dropped to 30% were it would slow back to 104mhz.
Once at 312mhz it wouldn't slow until the usage dropped to 50%.
  • Threshold104to208 -- 60
  • Threshold208to312 -- 85
  • Threshold208to104 -- 40
  • Threshold312to208 -- 50

I simply removed 20% from each setting.
Changing them won't make the phone actually faster, it's not overclocking, but it will switch to the faster speed sooner.
Using taskmgr I watched the CPU usage, not exact, but the usage settled down low enough, taskmgr alone pulled 6%, for it to drop to the lowest settings.

The entries are at: HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\IPM
  • Threshold104to208 -- 40
  • Threshold208to312 -- 65
  • Threshold208to104 -- 20
  • Threshold312to208 -- 30
In the same place there's a setting: "Disable13MhzStandby" Change that to "0".
That should allow, in theory, the CPU to switch to a lower setting when "idle".
I'm not sure how much of this is even supported by our phones.

My results have been the phone feels very responsive once the initial key presses "wake it up".
Menus, I use RightMenu, is faster. IE "loads" pages faster. It just feels better.
Battery drain, I have a Seido 2100, is the same. I'm on 3 bars now.
I disconencted from the charger at 8am and have been getting a lot of email and using Skyfire throughout the day.

Try it and report if it works for you or if it's a placebo effect.

blackmeto and myself have been trying a program called tornado program controler (I think) and that is basicly what it does but I have had a couple of stability issues and if it turns out they are related I may try your method. :-)

This is basically the same concept as was already posted by Steve some time back...
http://www.everythingq.com/forum/82620-post2.html

And is basically what I did on my Q9c to get it running much faster... Steve's settings that is...

I'm not sure were the hack came from I've seen it few place but that threads was the first.
I simply tried other settings.
if the hack really works aa percentages then it pretty mic forces the could full.
when I checked could isabella it'a was over 1%.

nothing new or life changing here (:
