Time date display on home page?

I read the below post but the lingo is still ablve me and I cant figure it out. Anyone able to put the actual hack in newbie terms I'd appreciate it.

thats for pocketPC...the Q is a smartphone

just edit the xml of the homescreen you are using
there are a few tutorials posted here at EQ in the homescreen section

no need to the hack the registry
