Smart tweak and hacking for dummies

Thank you for in advance for your help and patience. I think this is the right topic for this post, please move me if I am wrong.

I have searched and read and re-searched.... I want to confirm that I am about to do the right thing before I do it.

I purchased smart tweak for my Q because I am really new at the whole tweaking thing. never opened or edited a registry before in my life. I do not feel much like wrecking my phone but I do want some of those nifty enhancements.

I got the access denied message when installing, so it looks like what I am suppsed to do now is download and install aeconfig which will unlock my registry, and then install smart tweak.

It sounds like, from my searching that aeconfig and smart tweak can be installed and run with minimal risk to an idiots phone. Is my research and thinking correct on this?

yes, you are correct... there is always some risk but it's like you found out minimal.. + make sure you have a good backup there is always the Master Reset.
