Default Shorten SMS vibrations

I was wondering if it's possible to shorten the amount of time the SMS messages make the phone vibrate for? I've seen the tutorial in the official Q hacks, but it doesn't work for text messages, just phone calls. Right now, it vibrates for about 7 seconds every time I get a text, but I want it to just vibrate for 1 second.

i think you have to edit the ring / vib script to be "profile" specific. set your phone a prfile & then edit it. it will be the same for ringing & sms.

I know there is a registry hack to change the length of the ring. This should work for SMS.

I tried that and the only thing it would change was the ringtone, not the SMS.

When you make the "Script" string put this in for the value av# and for the # put how many seconds you want it to vibrate. This overrides any profiles, the a is for the active profile...so even if its on silent it will vibrate&same with the normal profile... to delete this just delete the "Script" string or rename it for temporary situations ie...school/work

Whoops, forgot to mention that I got it working, my problem was that I was editing something like RingTone0 (the only one that was mentioned in the guide) when I really needed to create a script in SMS, the only thing that sucks is that it doesn't change in Metting vs. Normal mode. So I had to put it to vibrate for 1 second, than play the ring tone for it's all the time script, but it works because in Meeting mode, the phone's set to silent, so the ringtone doesn't play, it just vibrates for 1 second.
