Default Ringtone File

I want my phone to find new ringtones under /My Documents/Ringtones rather than just under /My Documents. Can this be done? Thanks

they can be found either in the root directory of the SD card OR \application data\sounds

you cant create files for the tones....the phone wont find them

Thank you, I've just been trying to clean out "My Documents" before it gets too cluttered.

You mean he can't create files for the tone in other directories, don't you? Because I can find them alright. I cannot set a created mp3 for an Alarm, but I fixed that by renaming my mp3s to the default filenames (there are ringtones I will never like so I sacrifised them - however, they are safe and sound on my hard drive ). You just drag/copy&paste them into your Ringtones folder and click 'yes' when it asks you to overwrite the files. (No, you cannot delete them, but yes, you can overwrite them)

Hope that helps.

you can store ring tones in 2 places, the \Application Data\Sounds and/or in the root of the Storage Card..
