I have done both, grant I've done almost every hack for the Motorola Q9c, that's made it faster & sleeker. I'm a huge fan of Big's hacks, I've only had to Master Reset once, and that wasn't even about his hacks,
Thanks Facade. Anyways I have done both of these hacks, I've tried both of them giving each one a full day of testing, running with everything I could throw at them, with Profile "0", I've experienced a more productive day, everything seems faster, on the other hand, my battery suffers, consistanly hot. But the performance increse is worth it, even if the phone does die. With the Threshold hack, I've experienced a longer battery life, 10 hours max, compared to a reg, of 8 hours with the ProfileType "0" hack. It did not make the battery run as hot, but was still rather warm. With default settings you get what you edit, in my eye's if you have a short term contract why not, 2 years hopefully nothing will happen. Default settings gave me a rather impressive 13 hours of aggressive use, was expecting alot less, but going from these hacks back, seemed to 'burn-in' the battery (using Motorola 3.7v
BT61), computer overclocker's will understand this. But the performance suffered, I was consititanly yelling at my phone, wanting to switch back to the ProfileType "0" method.
Performance for the Q9c user - I would chose ProfileType "0"
Mid Performance for the Q9c user - I would chose Threshold hacks
For
maximum battery life, but with
low performance for the Q9c user - I would chose default settings.
Only one freeze, with the
threshold hack, due to a Older Google Maps Application. Doesn't seem to freeze with Google's newest edition of Google Maps.
Hope this helps those of you Q9c hackers.
