i just switched back to these settings:
  • Threshold104to208 -- Change from 60 to 2.
  • Threshold208to312 -- Change from 85 to 4.
  • Threshold208to104 -- Change from 40 to 1.
  • Threshold312to208 -- Change from 50 to 3.
from these settings:
  • Threshold104to208 -- 40
  • Threshold208to312 -- 65
  • Threshold208to104 -- 20
  • Threshold312to208 -- 30
Even though my battery life slightly (very slightly) suffers with those settings, the performance is much better. my Q runs way better with my Redfly with these settings too.

I think the question was where in the registry are the settings located.

I don't have the settings (q9h) so I could only guess where to look.

if thats the case then the location is mentioned in the very first post

as for that not being in the q9h...perhaps its just in a different location...which i have no clue where it could be

although i did just sticky a q9h hack thread last week...perhaps more info is there for you

what is the original value of the "Profile Type". I changed it but it kills the battery too much so i want to change it back.

Been mentioned a few times. IIRC it's 5.

what is the default value for the shell memory?? I want my battery life back...lol

Change the value in Key "ProfileType" to 0.

Forces the CPU to 314 MHz. Survives a reboot fine. My guess is that IPM is a driver Motorola uses to control hardware power settings, and this directs the driver to stop CPU scaling, thereby defaulting the CPU to it's normal state of full power.

I was not satisfied with the auto CPU scaling so I poked around and eventually made this change. This area will also allow you to tweak the scaling threshold values if that is what you are into.

This edit, combined with changing the shell memory value to 96, and keeping a clean install are the only speed tweaks I use.
What is the default value for this key? I changed it and it does go slightly faster but is a battery drain and forgot the default value ?!!!
