not sure if the two are related, but i did this hack and the startup sound hack and now i can't sync with my home pc via usb.

Can you elaborate further on the definition of "can't sync" ?

i plug in the Q with the usb cord and the little green icon turns green and spins around then nothing. I've done the error test and still nothing even uninstalled active sync 4.2 and reinstalled it. still nothing.

I haven't had any problems with the speed hack yet... it might be the other hack or the combination of the two. You might have to do a master reset to set things right if you can't get it working... or reset the values you altered.

Kind of a basic question, but did you try cycling the power on both your Q as well as your PC? I've had issues like you describe with previous PDAs and restarting the device as well as the PC usually took care of it.

I just applied the speed hack as well as the startup sound hack and have no issues syncing with my PC.

I applied the speed hack and noticed some improvement, and no ill side effects with either wireless or ActiveSync (yet).

Yep, I've tried everything. I don't know what to do.

A couple of other things you could try..

- un-do the registry hacks
- uninstall and reinstall ActiveSync on your PC
- make sure you're running the latest version of AS
- if you have another PC there, install AS on it and see if the same thing happens

well i reversed the speed hack and viola my Q now syncs up. I'm not sure what one has to do with the other.

Hi there. I believe my phone is app locked, and I cannot get it unlocked no matter what method I try (RAPI, AEConfig). I'm actually trying to install the .NET cf 2.0 and the CAB installation is unsuccessful. I tracked down the problem to not being able to change system files or modify the registry, which lead me to this thread. Unfortunately nothing seems to work. Has anyone run into this?
