Default Problem with hacks

So I have been doing some testing with some of the speed hacks. I have tried this one, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\
Changed limit from 16384 to 32768 and this one, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS
Changed - CacheSize to 4096. They work great to boost performance and such but there is one drawback. It breaks the Internet!!! After I do them I try to load a page with either Opera or IE and the both error out with connection problems. My old phone a Samsung BlackJack did the same thing but it could be worked around by a restart or turning off and on the wireless. I am using PHM to edit the registry and it does not give any errors while doing the changes. If I restore the registry after the problem starts It still wont work until I pull the battery.

I would really like the Q to be faster as it needs a lil more speed but if it breaks the Internet why have more speed? I also have checked the GPRS and Proxy settings against what AT&T says they should be.

Are you saying that this happens periodically? Or are you saying it's permanently down as in you cannot get on the internet anymore again, ever? Have you restarted/rebooted the phone after the hack? If you have, are you still experiencing this downed connection? Truth is, a lot of people are using the hack and there hasn't been too many issues with it. I'm not sure if the speed increase is enough to be considered "significant" and personally wouldn't worry about it too much. Check the settings and look around to see if anyone else is experiencing similar issues after the hack. Try restarting the phone and see if that clears things up.

I tried the cache size hack, had no ill affects. Only had marginal/minimal increase in menu navigation.

Have you tried only doing one at a time and seeing whick one does it?

Any registry edit will not take affect untill the phone is restarted as mentioned ^

The problems happen once I do the hacks. It really does break the internet right after I do the hack. Ill try it again this weekend and see how it goes.

Also I had a registry edit on my BlackJack that would immediatly delete any SMS messages that I deleted, no going into the Deleted Items folder. Will that work on the Q?

Default text message hack

so i've been reading and reading and it all sounds all so simple to perform this hack but i'm having trouble.

HKLM/software/microsoft/inbox/settings...

from there i've read two things.. one says create a new string another says create a DWORD both with a value of 1. do the regular soft boot (shut down) fire it up.. send a test txt msg and that damn "message sent bubble" still appears. any thing i'm doing wrong?

I've used both PHM and TC

THis is exactly how I did it on my BlackJack.

Just follow the steps and it should work. It also works on the Q9h. Oh and I got all the hacks to work now. Now if I could only find out why the normal version of youtube.com makes Opera crash with an error....
