is there a hack or way to make it so i could just put a simple 5 or 6 letter password into my phone instead of the "strong Alphanumeric" password in the phone ?

Not that I know of. You could try using the numeric pad to make words out of a five- or six-digit PIN, though.

is there a software that will lock my phone like the one built in but wont use the password i have for my phone ?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for. If you want some other program to lock the phone that supports different passwords or unlocking schemes, I don't know if that exists.

I know there are "visual" password programs for the Pocket PC, but the ones that I'm aware of require a touchscreen (because you have to tap certain areas of the screen for your password). However, that shows that it can be done.
