Question Moto Q9h-How To Remove Pre-installed shortcuts?

I just purchased a Moto Q9h from AT&T, and I really like the device. However, I would like to get rid of the "Get MobiTV" "Get MySpace Mobile" and other icon shortcuts on the device's Start menu.

I tried going through ActiveSync's Explorer, finding (for example) the Get MobiTV.lnk icon, right-clicking on it, and deleting it, but it says I do not have sufficient privileges, or that the file might be read-only. I right clicked on the file, went to "Properties," and I am not able to uncheck anything under "Attributes"--it is all greyed out. (Incidentally, "Read-only" is not checked--only "Archive" and "System" are). How can I get rid of these pesky icons?

Thanks!

I had a similar problem with registry keys. I downloaded the attached program and now I can edit registry keys. I am also able to delete the shortcuts you are trying to remove. Just connect to ActiveSync and run EnableRAPI.bat Hope this helps you.

File Type: zip EnableRAPI.zip (18.8 KB, 215 views)

Worked perfectly! Thanks!

P.S.
What does this EnableRAPI.bat actually do though? I unzipped and had ActiveSync running and ran the file and everything... can I go ahead and delete the unzipped files from my desktop now? Or do they need to somehow stay on my desktop because they're connected to my Q in any way?

pre-installed software is located in the ROM and can not be un-installed. what i did was creating a folder in the Start Menu called "Unused" and moved shortcuts/links i don't want to see in there.

you can do all that by using the File Manager.... go to \Windows\Start Menu and create folders & move links, make sure to have Hidden and System files un-hidden, also check the file attributes..
