Before going to the effort of installing a program and editing your ring tones, have you tried boosting the Ring volume setting in the profile? The Normal profile isn't set to the highest possible volume setting by default.

There's a registry hack in WM6 for this that also works for WM5. I did it on my Mogul. you can change the default value from I think 3 to 4 for a moderate increase, there is also an atenuator setting for more improvement. It worked on my Mogul and my Q. I'm on my Treo right now (yeah, I know Mogul, Q and 2 Treo's) but give me acouple days and I'll get back to ya'll with the hack. I'll post it here, no need to PM me.

If you're referring to the Audio Gains hack, I posted that a while back.

No that doesn't look like the one. This hack increases the max level of the ringer volume. It uses values 1 - 5 with 3 being default. 4 provides a notable increase with 5 showin no real difference. The atenuator is set at 2 as default (if my rememberer is remberering right) set to 1 shows an increase in usable volume. These hacks of the registry are specific to the ringer volume only. I'll look em up when I get my Q or Mogul in my hands.

Yeah, but that doesn't work. Well, it does, but that value is changed when you change your profile or change the Ring volume setting for the current profile.

In other words, it's not a hack, but just replicating what anybody can do using the Profiles settings applet.

I've heard that Pocket PC Phones don't have profiles (by default), so this hack may be useful on them, but it's unnecessary on the Q.
