Default Lock "Save Outgoing SMS" Setting

Is there a way to lock the setting "save outgoing sms messages" ON (So that messages my daughter sends are always saved to the sent folder)?

I know there's probably not a way to stop her from going back and deleting them, but at least it would make her have to do that extra step.

There are moble monitering programs that I'm interested in to moniter her text usage while driving, but if this setting "save outgoing sms messages" is turned off, the monitering programs won't pick up time logs for her outgoing messages.

Any suggestions? After reading all the other ridiculous stuff on here that can be done to the Q, I wouldn't think that locking this setting from being edited (by her) would be too too difficult (fingers crossed).

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

If you have an unlimited data plan, you might want to look into Dashwire. I believe if you have it set to sync automatically, it updates the text messages as you send/receive them. (Or at least shortly after anyway.) And you could view them on the dashwire page. Not sure if that would be something that would work for you or not.

EDIT: Actually, nevermind. I just checked my Dashwire and it didn't sync (when I manually told it to since I don't have it set to automatic) my sent text, apparently because I didn't have the Q set to save sent messages. After turning that on, it did sync the test message I sent. So you're still in the position of needing to keep her from disabling the saved sent messages. Advantage is, if you can keep her from disabling it, even if she does go in and delete the messages, if dashwire is set to automatic, it should already have saved a copy on the dashwire site. Of course, she could always kill the dashwire application.

If you go to the main screen of your text messages, hit menu then options, it will show B Sending highlight that one and click. You get two check boxes, one for including copy of original message when replying to email and the second to save copies of sent items. It will save them to the sent folder. Im not sure how savvy on the Q your daughter is but I wouldnt tell her I made the change, just do it. That way even if she knows how to check the setting she may not realize someone checked it. Other than I dont even know of any software that could make the changes.

That's what I'm gong with right now... it's been a while since I changed it or even mentioned it, so I'm thinking that since she just assumes it's off, she wouldn't just "randomly" check the settings.

I mean who would go and check their sent folder when they think there's nothing there right?

We'll see how far this gets me. Thanks guys.
