How to install applications in WM5

I am a new Q user for the first time.
Using Windows XP (in the Office) and Vista (at home).
I have downloaded the latest version of Activesync for xp and I know Vista has an inbuilt activesync utility.

Wanted to know:

1. How to install the following applications on my Moto q:
- exe file
- zip files
- cab files

Incase there is a posting on how it is down, will really appreciate it.

2. Can I intsall apps on the storage media (1 gb card)

move file to Q and click to install
if it gives you can error then you need to install it from the PC while hooked up to the Q

- zip files

verify its not a cab file...zip files do not install

- cab files

move to Q and click on file to install
