how do i delete icons off of start screenand more ?s

hello, im just trying to clean up my phone SPRINT MOTO Q (old verison) so im wondering ...

1. how do i delete the "Software Store" "Get Good" "Pocket MSN" icon off the start screen?

2. When i install a cab file, do i actually need to keep the cab file on the fone or can i delete it, u know the file when you click on it starts to download the same file again? like my GoogleMaps_compressed.CAB file, is it okay to delete without deleting google maps?

3. I have a 2 file named ''VitoCopyPaste.exe'' and ''VitoCopyPaste.exe.ini'', wich one of these can i delete?

4. is there an easy way to delete like games that i dont play anymore, like a certain folder like windows has "add/remove programms"?

File Manager... browse to \Windows\Start Menu... there they are. (best is to make a new folder (like Unused) and put them there.. some shortcuts don't like to be removed/deleted)

nope, installed .cab's are not needed after install. (yet a good policy to keep them somewhere in case you want to do a Master Reset or need to re-install them..)

none if you want Vito Copy 'n Paste to work.

wow thanks that was fast and it all worked except for the first part, i found the folder and every thing was in there, and when i clicked to move a file to another folder is said it was denied, probly becuase it was sprint store, but i went back to the folder and it looks nothing like it looked before, it has like 3 icons and 5 folders, before it had like 10 icons in that folder,

one more question, under settings/accessibility, what is "Confirmation time out" mines at 5 seconds, what does that mean?

ok now theres a big problem, when i click start, the start menu comes up, but if i try to move, it highlights the next icon and it takes me back to the home screen, actually everything on my phone opens but when i clcik down, up, left, right, center, it all moves one space over and takes me back to the homepage, please help

How to remove sprint shortcuts on the Q9c (i don't know if this will work on WM5):
1) Open File Manager.
2) Select Menu -> Options
3) Uncheck "Hide Hidden Files" and "Hide System Files". Select "Done"
4) Browse to \Windows\Start Menu\
5) Select the shortcut to remove (.lnk file) and select
Menu -> Delete. if this works you're done.
6) if step 5 gives you an Error: "Failed, Permission denied!" then select Menu->Properties
7) then scroll down and uncheck "read only" then go back and delete.

hope that helps anyone trying to get rid of those stupid and possibly very costly icons for sprint power-vision services.

It worked perfectly for my Q! I made a new folder named it crap and placed all the unwanted items in there. I then moved the folder to my storage disk. Yet another great find Thanks again.

How do you get programs ON to your start menu if you had them saved on your storage card?

just put a shortcut to it in \windows\start menu\

you can create a shortcut in file manager by selecting the file then pressing "menu" - "file" - "create shortcut"
then select it and move it.
