Disabling the Camers Shutter

I'm brand new to hacking phones. I have read a few posts giving directions for this with no success. I downloaded Mobile Registry Editor, found the "camera" folder, but it wont let me change the sound file to "\windows\shuttersound_02_secs.wav ". It gives me "access is denied" error. I then found that i needed AEConfig, so I downloaded it, but can't seem to get it to work. I followed these instructions:

* Copy the "Disable Security" shortcut in "Storage\Windows\Start Menu"
* Copy "AEConfig.exe" and "DisableSecurity.xml" in the "Temp" folder
* Now on your Smartphone run "disable security" from your phones start menu
* You should be prompted that it worked (might take a bit)

I got the "disable security" shortcut coppied into the folder. But the Copy "AEConfig.exe" and "DisableSecurity.xml" in the "Temp" folder
part is giving me trouble. Those files are in a Temp folder, but I dont have a Temp folder on my device to copy them into. Are they suposed to go into the "Storage\Windows\Start Menu"? They do show up in my start menu now, but wont run.

Someone please help me out here.

use a registry editor to either overwrite the file or locate it in the registry and change the file name to what you want

look in the hack sticky for the location of the file in the registry if you are looking to shut it off completely

you cant just delete the file...its in ROM and wont let you

i beleieve you hve to copy it to the storage card\temp folder

It worked. It was just the Temp file on the Storage card. Thanks for the help!

Im not to sure disabling it is a good idea when i disabled it i could not play internally recorded videos anymore.

Kogama, You're right. When I changed the sound for the shutter, it did silence that, but now some videos don't play anymore and it gives me an error.

Actually before i didn't notice it for a long time and when i fixed it back my shutter sound was gone and my videos worked normally. That was before the master reset though and now i ahve shutter sound back...

wonder if replacing the sound file with a blank/silent sound file (backup the original) would resolve your video issue.

I did just replace the sound with \windows\shuttersound_02_secs.wav
So maybe it has to do with something else, because some videos still work. I'll look into it more.

it would probably work with a black sound one
