Disabling Power Button when Locked

Is there a hack to disable the power button from functioning when the phone is locked? I've had some issues where I'd be carrying something that apparently pushes against the power button and the phone shuts off. And of course I don't notice right away and miss calls from my boss.
Also, I didn't search this one but thought of it while typing this, but can the thumb wheel be disabled while locked too?

I think it must be something wrong with your phone. I have a Moto Q1 and when it's locked (I lock it using the house button, than spacebar) you can press everything and nothing happens.

Hrmm... Maybe it's a feature of a Q9m, though I don't see who would find it helpful to turn a phone off while locked. Anyone else with a Q9m have this problem or just me?

I have the Q9c and it allows you to power off and change system volume while locked. I too, would like to know if these could be disabled.

I have a verizon Q9m and when the phone is locked no buttons can be pushed, when or if the are pushed the backlight will just come on ....

So if you hold down your power button for a few seconds while locked, your phone doesn't turn off? And the scroll wheel doesn't change the volume while locked? I'm asking because maybe there's a setting or something we could use here to get the same functionality as you, which would be great.

nope, no special settings all I do is push the home key and space bar and walah! my device is locked no response from any key on the device. I checked in the settings for security then device lock but its only options for a password when locked.

Do you have a password set? On mine, I have a simple password set (mostly as my daughter could probably figure out to hit the star to unlock it ) and have device lock set to lock after 5 minutes I think. Yet the phone can be turned off and the volume changed. I did do an update via the Moto Updater a while back. Perhaps that might be the cause?
Can anyone else check to see if their phone turns off while locked so we can try narrowing down what might be causing it?
Would having active sync able to "auto-unlock" your phone be an issue? As the phone keypad stays locked if I plug it into AS though it auto-passes the unlock code to the phone to access the memory and such.

Not sure which the relavent versions are but here's what I got:

CE OS 5.2.1810 (Build 18325.0.6.3)

Maybe I'll check to see if there's an update via Moto Updater when I get home.

I think that's probably the issue have you tried the lock without password that us the lock im using....

just set to use a password (simple pin)and yes sys volume I can change and also was able to power off, so yes it does require that you not use a pass. kina weird but it guess that's motorola for ya.....
