Desktop Registry Editor...HELP - Motorola Q Forum

Well...I messed up one key in my registry, and I need to undo it. But my phone won't boot past the Windows Mobile Splash screen. However, I can use the hotkeys to launch applications (like voice command) and I can hear them running, but not see them. My only hope is to find a desktop based Registry Editor. I have a q9c if that means any difference. I gotta delete the one key that I added. I'll try any program! Thanks!

Cool thanks....I stumbled on that one google searchin, and it said it doesn't work with Mobile 5. And the q9c has what...6 on it? Has anyone used that program with any luck on a Q? I've also found one other remote program to try. And if worse comes to worse, Microsoft Visual Studio Pro 2008 has a 90 day free trial period. It has a remote registry editor. But it over 3 gigs of bloated stuff that to DL when I only need it for one thing. But I'll try it all.

Worst case, the phone is only a week old...take er back and start over eh?

I personally have used it on my Q and it uses Windows Mobile 5 and it works great.

OK cool. Cuz I got this one little key in my registry I need to remove. I know right where it is....but can't get past that damn opening page.

Was thinkin of a Master Reset......but would that even help if it's a registry problem?

Well I edited my registry the other night didn't mess anything up but tested some things and the master reset cleared everything I had changed. So I'm betting it would clear the registry and restore it to default

Really? That's real good news! It leaves your phone set up right? As in you don't have to call your service provider to have it reactivated. It just clears all software and registry changes then?

Cuz if I can't fix this thing, I'll have to go that route.

No you shouldn't have to call them for any reason except for maybe an OTA update by dialing *228 <send>

Ah good news. It's killin me, I'm stuck at work, unable to try anything to fix my phone til I get home. I really want to try to fix this thing. But it's about quittin time. Thanks for yer input!
