Default check mail with greater frequency

Hello all,

I was wondering if there was some sort of hack to have the Q check for new mail more often than every 15 minutes. Ideally, I would like it to check every minute (like my gmail).

Thanks!

You would burn through your battery within a few hours of just checking email at 1 min increments. Push email is your answer.

Does anybody know a way to get around AOL's email? I'm trying to get some kind of push email system setup but can't seem to find anything to work with AOL. AOL doesn't have a forward email to another account feature... anybody have any ideas?

Is there an IM app that supports Gtalk and has notifications for emails from gmail?

I know that both Slick and Palringo support Google Talk. As for an IM client that also has notifications for emails from Gmail, I don't think any of them do. But won't your Q do that anyway if you set up your Gmail account on the Q's email client?

Yes, but I'm trying to get instant notification, not only after 15 minutes. I think I'm giving up on this idea (i've posted this theme in a different thread and don't want this topic to change too much).

Thanks for the help.

I'm currently using OctroTalk for gtalk, but i might switch over to Slick. It looks nice (I saw it in your apps page).

Slick is very nice. It's the best IM client I've used so far.

I know it's not instant, but you could set your Q to check your Gmail every 5 minutes. That's the setting I use on both of the email accounts I have setup on my Q.

Your batteries don't burn through with 5min intervals?
