Default Camera Hardware Hack: Detailed Pics

Howdy,

The gang over at Wired has a clever (if archaic) way of taking detailed pictures of small objects. The article [howto.wired.com] was written for the iPhone (shudder) but easily applies to any cameraphone.

I say we buy some fisheye lenses [wikipedia.org] and get crazy with our picture-taking selves!

Best,
.

I have a 20x objective lens here on my desk, but the focal length/image size combination didn't work out. There are some lenses hanging around here somewhere, I'll see if I can hunt some down....

Best,
.

PS Took the obj lens apart and used one of the lenses to...play? Test. Seems that I can't add pictures here so a new post methinks.

I suspect our sexy modder (and I don't mean Scott) either believes or has shown that fish eye lenses 'fail' at taking groovy pictures with the Q phone.

I take it as somewhat of a challenge...and since I'm off today I may have to go visit my local Radio Shack or hobby store.

Fail, my eye...my fish eye!

Best,
