Wifi Powersave

I have a Q9m with the spectec wifi card. I would like to be able to use the wifi powersave feature to shut wifi off after 1 minute of inactivity. It works ok and turns on if I begin to use the Q, but my email is set to sync every 5 minutes, and the wifi doesn't turn back on for the email to sync, so I cannot use this setting. Is there any way to make the exchange activesync trigger the wifi to turn on? Leaving it on all the time is a huge battery killer, I can kill a seidio 2100 in 11 hours (to low battery warning).

Found a sort-of workaround for this. Used mortscript to write a script that runs at startup and initiates a sync every 5 minutes. This is enough to wake up the wifi card. Set activesync to manual, as the script now initiates the sync.

New update, at school it doesn't always auto-connect to the wifi, so this presents a problem. Any ideas?
