Default what will the wifi card acctually do?

ok so i have a data block on my account so i dont accidentally get charged. im planning on getting the wifi card for internet use. i was wondering if this card will only work with ie or will it work with other data related things like mms messaging. i wonder this because i get the same error message when i try to go into ie as i do when i recieve an mms message...something about not having a connection. any help is greatly appreciated

also...would this generic brand card work?

thanks man i heard that 802.11b is pretty slow. how exactly slow is it? and what kind of performance will it have on my q9m?

In ideal conditions, 802.11b achieves speeds up to 11 Mbps. For most people, the speed of their wireless LAN isn't the limiting factor in their internet connection performance. WLAN speeds are usually higher than your DSL or Cable speed. 802.11b is more than fast enough to handle the typical 4-6Mbps cable connection.

(EVDO, the data service on our phones, typically gets 500 - 700Kbps download speeds.)
