while it's a bit of a hassle, you could take the dl.tv file in wmv format and run it through a program called Super C and shrink it down to 320x240 and lower the bitrate to 192bps. That's what I am doing for now. My company is building a podcast tool that will download your podcasts subscriptions and transcode/sync them to portable devices a la iTunes but for windows mobile devices as well as other portable media players and smartphones. supports avi,wmv,3gp and mp4 targets from virtually and video source.

anymore ideas here? i downloaded some codecs for tcpmp since it told me that the audio codecs were there for playing wmv files. But the video is super choppy on both windows media player and tcpmp. Usually tcpmp plays things flawlessly. I've tried some of the tweaks suggested on here but i still get a choppy video.
