Default Two quick ? for a Newb

So I just got my Q9m and its the first smartphone I've owned. I love it so far there's just one tiny annoyance that I've got. When I receive an email in one of the POP or IMAP accounts I've set up I get the mail icon on the top of my homescreen, but I never get a number indication in the Email () field like I do with SMS(), MMS(), or VMail(). What gives??? Also is the signal bar indicator always supposed to have the errors above it indicating that data is being transfered? I have my mail check every 2 hrs and make sure IE and other apps are killed using task manager, but i still get the data transfer arrows. Once in a while the arrows will be gone and I'll have the normal signal symbol. So what gives???

Guess that wasn't quick after all...Thanks!

The arrows will always be there telling you your data connection is dormant. The email () display is dependent on the theme you are using. Some use email () to display mms messages. Are you using the default theme? Or someone else's?

The arrows mean that the device is ready to send/receive data, when you see the Q icon that means that data is actually being transmitted. as far as the email notification count that has to do with how you set up that email account. I have read numerous posts on this same problem, I'm not sure exactly what the issue is but if you do a search you'll see plenty of posts that discuss this problem & hopefully someone has figured it out. I have (3) email account set up on mine: (corporate exchange server, POP3, IMAP4) and all (3) indicate the correct email count.

Yes i'm using the default theme on my Q as I haven't had much time to personalize it yet. To clarify things iM refering to the email() screen. When I click on the Email() name it opens up to a blank screen labelled Outlook Email. When I open up the Messages Program I get a list of all my accounts and the correct number of emails in my inbox for each account. Thanks
