| trouble transferring songs I just got a bunch of music from a friend, and yesterday, I transferred about 150 songs onto my 2gb card. That music works great, and just used my q as a mp3 player at the gym today. I came home, and was going to transfer some more songs so that I can have a better selection, and it says that I cant copy because the disk is copy protected. I looked at both the folders on my computer, and the card, and they now both say read only. I did not do that since yesterday, and whenever I try go go to properties and change it, it does not stick. It goes right back to read only before I can copy any music over. Does anyone have any ideas about what happened, and how to fix this? |

just kill the tasks in the task manager
try to copy the songs to a different folder on the phone and then using the phones file manager move them to the folder you want |

| actually the my music folder on my computer is read only, through no action of my own. i try to change that, and it seems to do it, but when i try to copy the music, it says that the folder is read only. what is really bugging me is that i have already transferred some of the music, and wanted to try it out before i spent the time filling up the card with music |

| thank you for all the help. I found out that the problem was not the read only aspect of my music folder, it was a bad card. the card was only a month old, and I had only taken it out ot the phone once. All of a sudden, it dumped all of the family pictures i had on their, and just had corrupt, unuseable files. It would not even reformat, so i took it back for a new one. The new card is working like a champ, and I currently have about 400 songs that are working like a champ! Just won an ebay auction for an 8gb micro sd for 45.00, so hopefully I wont have any problems with that. I know it is hit or miss with those as well. |

I had a Kingston and it got stuck in the phone. would not come out, had to get a new Q when the phone would not vibrate, at the store the guy took about 25 min to get the kingston card out of the old phone (Destroyed that phone) and when he tried to get the kingston card in the new phone....it would not go in. So i wound up gettnig a ScanDisk card from them (Yeah i know i paid too much) and that card had no problem going in or out of the phone.
Just curious
Steve
