Its just a bum battery IMHO. |
There are thousands of posts regarding battery life, some people report 2-3 days, others report not even getting 8 hours. There are many things that affect the battery life for this device as well as plenty of other smart phones. These devices are desiged to do a multitude of tasks all of which greatly affect battery life. If you're not happy with this particular phone because of battery life you may find one that lasts a little bit longer but in general most small compact smart phones sacrifice battery for form factor. The following is a quick list of things you can do:
- if you are in a low signal area you can force the phone to 1x cdma only and turn off EVDO. this will save battery since the phone is not trying to constantly establish an EVDO signal.
- Turn off Bluetooth, you can toggle this feature pretty easily by selecting the Verizon Wireless Time/Date on the home screen which will bring up the wireless manager
-Kill applications when finished
-make sure gps is 911 only
-use the screen light toggle switch, that's the key with the envelope and half moon
-turn off and abandon the factory alarm, use a third party alarm program
-adjust power settings
-adjust email sync frequency
-Windows Mobile autoupdate frequency to manual
-turn off predictive text
There are many other things you can do, but I have found that signal strength is by far what affects battery life the most.
I have tried all of these suggestions and I usually get at least a full day, but I always keep it plugged in the charger as much as I can.
