Default Switching to wifi

I will be traveling to Canada for a few months, and it appears my data package does not include Canada. So I want to buy a wifi card for the Q. I will turn off my data package with Verizon, and get a Canada calling plan. They will charge me by the Kb for data access, so I want to limit using that. I will be near wifi networks quite a bit but will still need to access Verizon data.

So is there an easy was to get activesync to switch between wifi and roaming Verizon data.

I mean the mail sync for Exchange. Basically I want to be able to switch between pay for use Verizon and Wifi for the internet connection. Primarily for mail, but maybe also for browsing. Unfortunately Verizon will not give me a package for data for Canada, they charge per megabyte so I want to limit my use as much as possible.

wifi would take the place of verizon data for email and for web
have verizon block data for the time you are in canada and use the wifi card to connect
i dont have a wifi card so i cant advise on how to use the actual card but that is how i might approach it

That word sort of work, however, the problem is a little more complex. I want to be able to switch back and forth between pay as you go Verizon and Wifi. When I am near a hotspot I want to use wifi, and then when I am not I would like to be able to switch back. This will most likely happen several times in a day. So having Verizon block data is probably not the solution I am hoping for. I am hoping for a setting in the phone that would switch back and forth.

I finally spoke to Motorola about this. They claim when I insert my wifi card I can access the Wireless Manager and switch data access to Wifi right there. Supposed to be very easy. Now I just need to order the card and try it out.

when it comes time to switch simply highlight the "Verizon Wireless" on the home screen (right below where the time is in The VZW Layout home screen) and press the center button...this brings up the wireless manager...when you have the wifi card inserted, you simply press the center button to turn it on/off

unless you are not using that homescreen you can hold down the home key and it will take you to the wireless manager
