Default Sudden Decrease in Battery Life?

i've searched th forums for this & couldn't find anything on this topic . . . my 9m had good battery life - btter than my earlier Q & lasted ~ 1 - 1.5 days with one charge. Suddenly, though, my battery barely makes it a day & these past few days require a mid to late day recharge to survive.

I use candlelight.

I initially tried the speed hacks but didn't see a boost so I switched back to prevent those hacks from draining battery.

I see some people suggest alarm clock sucks out battery lif so started using another alarm.

none of the above have helped the problem.

are there any ideas on what I might have done to create this situation? any ideas on fixing this?

I guess I could always try a master reset but I hate reconfiguring my email & all my personalized options - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What is candlelight? I hear this around here and haven't been able to deduce what it is. Thanks.

I got an extended battery that solved my battery struggles bigtime. A lot of people don't care for that but it is one solution.

Question

There are a lot of posts on this forum dealing with Candlelight that will help you if you plug it into the search screen.

You can download the freeware app here:

In the meantime, anyone got any advice for me on my sudden battery drainage issue?

My guess is one of the programs you were playing around with messed up some power settings. I would try a registry cleaner (like SKLite) and if that doesn't help, I think a Hard Reset is in order ....

I just did a hard reset yesterday because my task manager wasn't working properly, and although it takes an hour or two get all programs back running the way I like them, the phone is working great again ....

Maybe I ought to get a backup program now ... before I start trying out various beta programs again.

I would personally stay away from candlelight on a wm6 device until they update it, and the Q9m has the automatic dimming light already, and that is working well enough for me.

The battery in question was the extended battery - I guess IS the extended battery.

Anyways, I broke down and did a master reset.

AMAZING difference - in the time I had the Q connected to my PC to re-sync all my contacts & calendar entries, it took more juice than it has in the past few days in the same amount of time. In fact, it's been charging REALLY slowly lately until now.

So, I fixed it the hard way - but it's definitely worth it.

Thanks for those who contributed!
